This is a great way for kids to practice their table facts without being overwhelmed by a full multiplication grid. It also allows them to focus on recalling a few table facts and not rely on other strategies (like just adding on) to find facts. These grids also include assessing and understanding of square numbers.
They could time themselves completing all of the questions and try to beat next time. Or they could set a time limit and see what can be completed in the time frame.
